We will follow the Prophet Yūsuf ʿalayhi al-salām in this story from Palestine to Egypt, from a boy into a man, from being accused to being absolved, from slavery to governance, from being a lost child to being reunited. This class will give you an opportunity to inculcate within yourself a love for the Qur'an and the Prophets of Allah, you will discover how lessons from this Sūra can be used in your lives and reflect on the wisdoms contained in Allah's final revelation.

Sajid Ahmed Umar

Sheikh Sajid was born in Leicester, UK. He attended primary and secondary school and college in Harare (Zimbabwe), where he studied IT and obtained a first class degree. Having memorised the Qurʾan at the age of eighteen he turned his attention towards Islamic studies. He travelled to Riyadh where he enrolled at Imaam Muhammed Ibn Saud Islamic University completing a University Diploma in Arabic language and Islamic Sciences. He continued his studies at al-Imam University, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Sharīʿah. He is now completing his Masters, specialising in Comparative Islamic Law in the Higher Institute for Judiciary Studies (Maʿhad al-ʿāli li'l-Qaḍā) at al-Imam University.

He has spent much of his semester breaks teaching various Islamic programs for the youth and adults in Saudi Arabia, UK , South Africa, Malawi and Zimbabwe. These classes ranged from lectures in Masajid, on radio, TV and via online mediums. He has also spent time working on syllabus and curriculums for use in Islamic schools based in the West. He is an Imam and Khatib of the largest Masjid in Zimbabwe. He is also a Lecturer at Knowledge International University and a member of their Academic Management Team. His hobbies include building computers to customer specs, book collecting and reading.

Sh. Sajid is married and has a son named Abdullah. He has a brown belt in karate, is a keen golfer, swimmer, footballer and cricketer, and has completed over 15 articles and 5 dissertations on the Islamic Sciences.

Sheikh Sajid is also the 'Director of Islamic Development' for Mercy Mission World.
